Your new pets ears need to be checked regularly for injury, cleanliness, parasites, and possible infections. One major
symptom of ear problems is a pet that rubs or scratches at its ear. If
upon examination you notice redness, an odor, swelling, bugs, yeast,
foreign objects, or if you can not find anything that looks wrong but
your pet continues to focus on the ear, it could be an ear infection, call your Vet. Pets with long floppy ears can have more ear problems. There are
many over the counter cleaning solutions and your Vet may suggest one of
his/her own. Your Vet can show you the proper way to clean your pets
ears and suggest a schedule of how often to clean the ears.
